Catalina 27 TM
Magan has been converted to full racing form, but can still cruise to the Vineyard in comfort.The Catalina 27 is one of the company's most successful designs and is an affordable cruiser/racer with lots of interior space. Few production boats have given families more sailing enjoyment for their dollar than the Catalina 27 tall mast and has been proven to be a wonderful small racing boat and popular family cruiser. The Catalina 27 has a functional layout; stable sea-keeping ability and a fast turn of speed which makes her a great starter boat or a keep-for-ever classic. Magan has been a one owner boat purchased new in 1979, she has been meticulously maintained and customized for both cruising in comfort and race winning performance around the buoys.

Construction
Hull: Construction & FinishThe Catalina 27 was designed with ½ ton competition in mind. The hull and deck is of 100% hand lay up of generous fiberglass cloth and non-skid surfaces molded into the deck with a full hull liner. Decks have been cored with marine plywood to decrease weight and provide stiffness. There is a large self bailing cockpit and large sliding main hatch with teak trim.
Deck: Magan's deck layout has been organized around our motto, " work smarter, not harder!" She can be easily raced by a crew of two or even single handed as needed. All lines are lead to the cockpit and are in easy reach from the tiler. Most controls can also be accessed from the weather rail. The boat is equally comfortable as she is easy to sail.
